Oburu Odinga Loses Cool as He Lectures Those Against Broad-based Gov't — Reveals His True Colors

ODM Party Leader Dr. Oburu Oginga delivered a fiery message in Migori, sharply warning individuals undermining the emerging broad-based government arrangement.

Speaking at a public function flanked by Luo Nyanza Members of Parliament, Oburu made it clear that those mistaking his calm demeanor for weakness were “about to see his true colours.”

His remarks, delivered in a rare moment of visible agitation, showed growing tensions within political circles as debates intensify over the structure and legitimacy of the broad-based government being championed nationally.

Oburu, a seasoned statesman and influential figure in Nyanza politics, stated that he would no longer entertain provocations from leaders opposed to the inclusive governance model.

He emphasized that the broad-based government is designed to stabilize the country, reduce political hostility, and create space for national unity.

According to him, resistance to this model is driven by individuals exploiting public emotions and personal agendas rather than prioritizing Kenya’s long-term peace.

Oburu Odinga noted that some politicians have been attempting to mislead citizens about the intention of the arrangement, painting it as a betrayal of the opposition’s mandate.

The veteran politician insisted that the Luo Nyanza region fully understands the strategic importance of national cohesion, signaling that he and other ODM leaders remain committed to frameworks that prevent cycles of post-election unrest.

His remarks were met with applause from the crowd, which included senior ODM MPs who have been vocal supporters of the stability pact gaining traction in national conversations.

In defending his stance, Oburu Odinga reminded detractors that his decades in public service have taught him patience but also the importance of firmness when national interests are at stake.

He added that the opposition’s engagement with broader governance structures does not equate to capitulation, but rather a pragmatic approach to safeguarding the country’s economic and political wellbeing.

But even as national dialogue continues to evolve, Oburu Odinga’s remarks send a strong signal: the broad-based government debate is far from settled, and ODM’s senior leadership intends to confront dissent head-on.

His warning marks a critical moment as the country moves toward a more inclusive political framework—one he insists must be understood, respected, and protected.
