How to Check the 2025 KJSEA Results Online or Through SMS

The Ministry of Education has officially released the 2025 Kenya Junior Secondary Education Assessment (KJSEA) results, giving parents, teachers and learners several simple ways to access the scores.

KNEC Chief Executive Officer David Njeng’ere announced on Thursday, December 11, that the results are now live on digital platforms and can also be accessed through SMS.

He encouraged parents to use whichever method is easier for them, especially now that many schools are preparing to guide students on placement.
How to Check KJSEA Results Online

Learners and parents can view the results by visiting the Ministry’s selection portal.
Here is the process:

Open the Ministry’s website: selection.education.go.ke

Click on the results or selection section

Enter the learner’s assessment number

Submit to view the full results

The portal loads the complete report, including subject performance and placement details. Parents are urged to save or print a copy for future use. Schools will also issue printed result slips later.

How to Check KJSEA Results Via SMS

For learners or parents without internet access, the Ministry has provided an SMS option.
To use it:

Send the learner’s assessment number to 22263

Each message costs Ksh 30

The SMS service shares the learner’s school selections and placement information. This makes it convenient for families in areas with limited connectivity.

Number of Candidates and Marking Process

Njeng’ere noted that this year’s assessment was one of the largest conducted under the Junior Secondary framework.

A total of 1,130,587 candidates sat the 2025 KJSEA exams across 24,366 junior schools countrywide.
In addition, 2,032 Grade 9 learners who came from foreign schooling systems or missed the KPSEA test earlier took a qualifying exam to align them with the Kenyan curriculum.

To complete marking on time, KNEC worked with a large team of examiners.

11,239 examiners marked the structured questions in 21 marking centres

Machine scoring handled all multiple-choice papers to speed up the process and maintain accuracy

Njeng’ere said the council ensured that every script was processed carefully so that results would be ready before end-year planning begins in schools.
