Advocate Wahome Thuku has criticized Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi for donating food to residents ahead of Christmas, saying it's not his job.
In a viral video, Sudi was seen distributing food to hundreds of residents near his home.
Thuku called it "enticing residents with food" and said the MP's role is legislation, representation, and oversight.
"Look keenly at the faces of those young and old mothers on the queue. You see the real face of a desperate Kenya," Thuku said.
His post sparked mixed reactions, with some Kenyans disagreeing, saying Sudi was giving back to the community.
Kelvin Mbugua who commented on Facebook said :" I don't see anything wrong with what he is doing. Just let him be at least he's giving them something, unlike some politicians who disappear after elections only to return empty handed ".
Thuku urged Kenyans to vote for the right politicians in the upcoming elections to change their lives.
