The burial of Mayienga FM head Festus Amimo in Awasi, Siaya County, drew friends, family, and colleagues who traveled from near and far to pay their last respects.

Siaya Senator Oburu Oginga, who attended the burial, shared fond memories of his friendship with Amimo, expressing shock over his untimely death.
“I did not just come here because of politics. This man was someone I knew, and he would consult me on so many things at work.
So when he died it came as a shock to me because he was not sick or had any illnesses,” he said.
The senator’s remarks highlighted Amimo’s impact in his professional and personal circles, illustrating the deep loss felt by those who knew him.
In a gesture of support for the grieving family, Oburu gifted Amimo’s widow KSh 60,000, encouraging her to rebuild her life after the funeral.
He remarked, “This is for you, and as you can see, she is bringing us another Amimo,” referring to the possibility of continuing the family legacy.
He presented KSh 40,000 to Amimo’s mother as a token of sympathy and apology before leaving for another function.
