Kenyan mixed martial arts fighter Emmanuel Nyangoma is steadily building a strong reputation in the United Kingdom after an impressive run of victories in 2025.

Based in Luton, Bedfordshire, Nyangoma competes as an amateur featherweight and trains at Legends MMA, where he has sharpened his grappling and submission skills. Within a short time, he has emerged as one of the most promising Kenyan fighters on the UK regional MMA circuit.

Nicknamed “Emmanuel the Problem”, Nyangoma has become known for his calm confidence and ability to dominate opponents once the fight hits the ground. His ring introductions often draw excitement, with fans recognising him as a fighter who rarely leaves things to the judges.

The Kenyan athlete began his amateur MMA journey in 2024 and quickly climbed the rankings across the UK and Ireland. In the 2025 season, he recorded a remarkable streak, winning three consecutive fights through submission. Notably, every victory came via submission, with the rear-naked choke emerging as his signature finishing move.

Among his standout performances were appearances at Cage Rage 4 and Anarchy Fight Series 4, where his opponents were forced to tap out.

He also secured notable wins against Naqeeb Hassan and Blake McLachman, further boosting his profile and placing him on the radar of MMA enthusiasts.

Nyangoma’s only setback in 2025 came on July 26, when he suffered a loss to Abdala Diriye at the Rage 22 event. Despite the defeat, analysts and fans praised his composure and resilience, noting that he remained competitive throughout the bout.

His strong performances have now positioned him as a potential title contender, with discussions already pointing toward a possible championship belt fight in 2026.

Beyond Nyangoma’s individual success, his rise reflects the growing popularity of mixed martial arts in Kenya.

In December 2025, the country hosted its first officially sanctioned professional MMA event, organised by ANZA MMA. The organisation runs amateur fight nights and is recognised by global bodies such as the UFC and PFL Africa.
