"The Game Hasn't Began" Ngunjiri Wambugu Alleges After Ruto Clashed With Opposition Chief Over This

Political strategist Ngunjiri Wambugu has raised concerns about Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s recent responses to President William Ruto.

Wambugu argues that Kalonzo may have made a misstep by engaging too closely with the details of the President’s comments.

Wambugu points to two specific reactions from Kalonzo that he believes were politically unwise. First, Kalonzo corrected President Ruto’s statement about the length of his political career.

The President had claimed Kalonzo has been in politics for 50 years, but Kalonzo admitted it is 40 years.

Wambugu sees this as a minor detail that detracts from the bigger issue, suggesting that Kalonzo focused on trivia rather than addressing the broader criticism.

The second reaction involved the Kibwezi-Maua road project. Kalonzo entered a discussion about which government initiated the road, even though the project’s ownership is now disputed.

Wambugu believes this was a risky move that could have been avoided, as it potentially places Kalonzo in a contentious debate that favors his political opponent.

According to Wambugu, these responses could make Kalonzo appear less strategic ahead of the upcoming political contest.

He suggests that rather than getting drawn into detailed corrections, Kalonzo should have focused on a larger, more persuasive narrative that emphasizes his vision and leadership.
