"We Used To Think That Gachagua Is A Bad Person While In Govt But We've Seen The Truth" Kalonzo Changes tune

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka on Tuesday used a funeral service in Murang’a to deliver a sharp criticism of President William Ruto’s leadership, saying the opposition has changed its view of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua after his impeachment.

Kalonzo said that while in government, the opposition believed Gachagua was the problem, but his recent move to the opposition has revealed what he termed as the “real source of the country’s challenges.”

Kalonzo told mourners that Gachagua’s exit from government had exposed President Ruto as the one who has failed to deliver on promises made during the 2022 campaigns.

He said that Kenyans are still waiting for the fulfilment of key pledges that touched on the economy, jobs, and development projects, yet the government continues to blame others instead of taking responsibility.

The Wiper leader further accused the President of overseeing what he called the killing of innocent people, saying the opposition would not remain silent in the face of what he described as injustices happening across the country.

He stated that the opposition had initially misjudged Gachagua based on his role in government but noted that his impeachment and subsequent shift to the opposition had opened their eyes to deeper issues within the Kenya Kwanza administration.

Kalonzo said the opposition is now more united in pushing back against what he termed as failed leadership, insisting that Kenyans deserve a government that respects lives and fulfills its obligations.

He urged residents of Murang’a and the wider Mt Kenya region to carefully reflect on the current political situation, adding that the opposition will continue to highlight what he views as the failures of President Ruto’s administration.

He maintained that justice, accountability, and truth will remain at the centre of the opposition’s agenda as they prepare for the political battles ahead.
